JimJim & the FatBoys SINGLE MALT

As a "Single Malt" band, we have found the exploration of the delights of Scotland's wares to be an adventure.

We offer here our completely biased reviews for fun!     [NOTE: We sometimes rename these for our own amusement.]

DEFINITE THUMBS UP!

Glenlivet 12, 15 years. A popular stand-by. (Couldn't find a photo since "Mactopia Internet Express" redirects the website to their own! What's up with that?)

Dalmore Cigar Malt--this is one that debuted at Winfield 2002. We didn't have any good cigars to go with it--guess we'll have to try that one again!

UPDATE: Well, at Winfield 2002 we did and the pairing was a delightful one!

Dalwhinnie 15 year--smooth with a taste of the peat fires.

Glenfiddich 12, 15 & 18 years. The older they get the smoother they are!

Glenmorangie

Oban

Bunnahabhain, aka "Bunny Hopper" this was a favorite at the May and June 2002 tastings.

Cardhu this beauty (from the first distillery to be owned by a woman! ) converted a camping neighbor this year. Jeff has a particular description for this one. (Ask him!) It also has a bottle shape that goes well on his sailboat!

MaCallan

Tomatin

Speyburn

No Thanks, don't think we'll go there again!

Laphroig aka "LeapFrog"--uh, why not just grab a plug of peat and chew it!

?--

Cragganmore--we never got a chance to taste this one since Babcock grabbed the bottle and headed home early! Now we have to rely on his report!
